Aeolian stars is a scrolling space shooter game released in december of 2009. It is an evolution of what was originally a java applet game, with many improvements and optimizations for making it playable on the android phone. For more details about the game itself, go to the games page.
The Windy Tree is glad to hear of any suggestions for improvement or bug reports. Please send an email to support and if it is indeed a reasonable request, we will implement or improve the feature in the next update to the application.
Target Tap Frenzy was Windy Tree Studio's first look at the Android platform, so it functioned more as a learning experience than a true game development. Currently, the updated and improved version of Target Tap Frenzy is available for free on the Android Marketplace. It is fully functional and has solved all the issues of the original one.
Because making games is an exciting challenge, fun and rewarding. The satisfaction of completing a project after weeks or months or even years of work is wonderful. With the effort in learning and experimenting with ever-improving methods, comes games that can function well and play well, and hopefully brings a smile to the people who stumble upon and play our games. There is always something new, something yet to be done, and that is what keeps us going.
Some of our games are free and some are not. It really depends on the game itself and how much time and effort was vested in its manifestation, and where it is made available.
Although we have been making various games on various platforms, only a small fraction of our games are up on the android market. Most of our games were PC, or occasionally Xbox360, and had gameplay mechanics that are not easily supported by the android framework. Sometime in the future, more of them will appear on the Android marketplace.
